World Youth Day

juventude.jpgAssociated with World Youth Day originated in 1985 the World Youth Day established by Pope John Paul II. Are held every two or three years, a city is chosen to celebrate the great Day, in which people around the world. In intermediate years, the days are lived locally in Palm Sunday, by some dioceses around the world. For each Day, the Pope suggests a theme. During the WYD's, as events happen catecheses, worships, masses, moments of prayer, talks, and sharing shows. All this in several languages. In its last edition in Germany in 2005, attracted some 1 million young people. Despite being proposed by the Catholic Church is an invitation to all young people in the world. For John Paul II, "... the hope of a better world is in a healthy youth, and values, responsible and, above all, dedicated to God and to the next." The next big Day happen in Australia, in July 2008. The approximate duration is 5 days.
