Portugal, Camões and Comunities Day

After the Implementation of the Republic, were developed and legislative work with it, made some decrees as to stipulate that the municipal holidays. Decree of 12 June 1910 was to the Municipalities and Counties to choose one day of the year that were representative of their traditional celebrations. Lisbon chosen for the Holiday Hall on June 10 in honor of Camões (when pointing to his death).
Camões was the fervor of the nation, Portugal in the area more beautiful and with great significance for the Republicans. With the entry of the Estado Novo, established regime in Portugal in 1933 under the command of António de Oliveira Salazar, the Day of Camões will be celebrated nationally and framed in a nationalist aspect of commemoration and collective history, so going to be too day of Portugal and Communities.
The day is June 10th since the National Holiday celebration of Portugal, Camões and Communities.
