Independence Day of Portugal

indep.jpgThe Restoration of Independence is the introduction of the house of Bragança dynasty against the Philippines on December 1, 1640, which governed for 60 years the country. It is celebrated annually in Portugal for a holiday on December 1.

The title of Duke of Bragança is one of the most important of the Portuguese Royal Family. Since the ascension to the throne of the dynasty of Braganza, in 1640, the heir to the Portuguese Crown USA the title of Duke of Braganza, a tradition that prevailed even after the establishment of the Republic on 5 October 1910. By tradition and the importance of home, the Dukes of Bragança have their names numbered as kings.
